It has been a month since Anabell Pacheco welcomed a rare and special blessing — monochorionic twins at GoodSam Medical Center, after enduring the heartbreak of three miscarriages, last March 2, 2024.
Monochorionic twins, a rare and high-risk pregnancy where the twins share the same placenta, occurring in approximately 1% of all pregnancies.
Throughout her pregnancy, Anabell received exceptional care from Obstetrics & Gynecology High-Risk Specialist Dr. Nonette Diansuy, who closely monitored her progress and provided reassurance every step of the way. When Anabell went into labor prematurely, Dr. Diansuy together with Anesthesiologist Dr. Mary Claribelle Yap, acted swiftly, ensuring the safe delivery of the twins and arranging a seamless transition to the NICU.
In the NICU, the twins, born prematurely at just 32 weeks, received compassionate care from pediatrician Dr. Ma. Lourdes Bernadette Trinidad and the GoodSam NICU team. Dr. Trinidad’s expertise in Neonatal Care and her dedication to her tiny patients played a crucial role in the twins’ journey to health and strength.
Pediatric Neonatologist Dr. Fatima Ruby Panela and Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Lesley Ann Dela Cruz also worked tirelessly to provide the best possible care for the twins.
All thanks to the exceptional care provided by her Obstetrician-Gynecologist, Pediatricians & the NICU team, twins Prince Jacob and Prince David were able to graduate from the NICU.
The journey of the twins has not only been a testament to their resilience but also a source of inspiration for many. #AlagangGoodSam #GoodSamCares
