GoodSam Medical Center proudly opened its newly constructed Cancer Treatment Unit with an official blessing and ribbon cutting ceremony last July 31, 2024 along with the unveiling of hospital markers that pay tribute to all the doctors who contributed to the hospital’s rich history.

The blessing was officiated by Rev. Fr. Joey Alto Jr. Along with the hospital management committee – Engr. Oscar C. Deus, President-CEO; Dr. Edison O. Rosales Jr., Medical Director and Dr. Carmina Nina S. Grantoza, Hospital Administrator, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Dr. Andrew A. Yacat, Oncologic Surgeon and Dr. Flerida Puno-Mendoza, Pediatric-Hematologist.

The event also featured the unveiling of hospital markers in Pediatrics Department and Ob-Gyne Department. The honorees were:

Department of Pediatrics: Dr. Magdalena S. Cuaresma, Dr. Elizabeth P. Binuya, Dr. Celia R. Salac and Dr. Thelma E. Valdez; and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology: Dr. Teodora C. Matias, Dr. Elsie C. Mejia, Dr. Teresita A. Tanchoco and the late Dr. Cecilia D. Capinpin.

The day’s celebration continued with a special luncheon for all the guests and their families at the Alessandra’s Banquet Hall.

As the hospital looks forward, the new Cancer Treatment Unit and the hospital markers serve as a reminder of the whole GoodSam Family’s promise to continue advancing healthcare for the benefit of the community. #GoodSamCares
