Children with cleft palate were given the opportunity to strengthen their communication skills through a Cleft Palate Speech Camp held last August 16, 2025 at the Alessandra’s Blackroom.

The program was spearheaded by Dr. Lora Mae A. De Guzman, Head of GoodSam Dept. of Surgery, together with Ms. Julie DeAngelis, speech Pathologist. Backing the initiative, GoodSam Med extended its support, underscoring the hospital’s advocacy for patient-centered programs that empower children and families.

The camp focused on helping children improve their speech clarity, confidence, and social interaction, with therapy exercises designed to make communication easier and more effective. Families also benefited from the program, gaining practical guidance and encouragement on how to support their children’s development at home.
